Soul & Spirituality
In concept, the soul is the nonphysical essence of one’s self. Some will argue that phenomenal consciousness, which one can come to understand through introspection, provides evidence that souls do exist. The belief in the soul usually involves some form of dualism.
Spirituality more generally and somewhat ambiguously refers to that which is immaterial and also to spiritual experience, which for some can be the transcendent experience of realizing their true immaterial nature and for other can be a sense of wonder and a higher state of self-awareness coming from spiritual activities. Such spiritual activities are in some cases practiced alone and in other cases are practiced within a greater community.
